Azerbaijani athletes have won five medals at the Traditional Karate World Championship.
According to information from the Azerbaijan Karate Federation shared with Idman.biz, seven athletes competed under the leadership of Ahmad Afandi, head of the Union of Traditional Karate Styles, in Tokyo, Japan.
Among cadets under 15 years old, Aykhan Shabanzade took third place. In the youth category, Salman Salmanov won the gold medal in kata.
In the senior category, Imran Quluzade (74 kg) won silver, while Mehman Eynalov (+75 kg) earned bronze.
In the team kumite competition, the group consisting of Fuad Aliyev, Elbrus Abdullayev, Imran Quluzade, and Mehman Eynalov secured the bronze medal.
