Aydan Valiyeva spoke about the defeat in the semi-finals

"It was a very difficult tournament. My opponents were quite experienced."

Aydan Valiyeva (52 kg), a member of the Azerbaijani national team who won a bronze medal at the European Judo Championship under the age of 23, told Idman.biz.

She mentioned her happiness for rising to the podium in the fight with athletes who have got results among adults. The 18-year-old judoka, who also placed 3rd in the open Oceania Tournament in Australia, said that the most difficult match was in the semi-finals: "My opponent had 2 shido in the match against Hungarian Gyertyas Roza. Everything was in my favor. But my sudden carelessness resulted in my defeat. Before that, I played in the Oceania Tournament. I traveled from one continent to another in a short period of time. Of course, road fatigue also affected my performance to some extent."

It should be noted that on the first day of the European Championship among under-23 judokas held in Potsdam, Germany, along with Aydan Valiyeva, Nariman Mirzayev (73 kg) and Mahammad Musayev (60 kg) also won bronze medals.
