The Azerbaijani judokas won 2 gold and 1 bronze medals on the first day of the World Championship among veterans in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
Idman.biz reports that on the first day of the competition, 7 of the judokas in M6, M7 and M8 age categories fought for medals.
Azer Askerov won a gold medal in the +100 kg weight category in the M6 age category. Gabil Gasimov, competing in the same weight class, took the 7th place.
In the M7 age category, Farhad Rajabli (90 kg) won the gold medal of the Championship. This victory was the 11th gold medal won of Farhad Rajabli in the World Championships among master judokas.
Arif Gasimov (100 kg) won the bronze medal in the M8 age category.
