The European U23 Judo Championship kicked off today in Pila, Poland.
According to Idman.biz, the Azerbaijani national team secured 4 medals on the opening day of the tournament.
A total of 9 Azerbaijani judokas competed for medals.
Women
- Farida Mirzayeva (48 kg), Khadija Gadashova (52 kg), Aydan Valiyeva (52 kg), Fidan Alizada (57 kg), and Aytaj Gardashkhanli (63 kg) 
- Fidan Alizada won gold by defeating Nino Loladze in the final.  
- Aydan Valiyeva claimed silver after losing to Ayumi Leyva Sanchez (Spain) in her final match.  
Men
- Huseyn Allahyarov (60 kg), Murad Muradli (60 kg), Rufat Shovletov (73 kg), and Abil Yusubov (73 kg) competed for the men’s team.  
- Huseyn Allahyarov clinched gold after defeating Polish judoka Jakub Kurowski in the final.  
- Rufat Shovlatov secured bronze by overcoming Dimitar Gospodinov (Bulgaria) in his match.  
The competition will continue until November 17, with Azerbaijan represented by a total of 15 judokas.
