One gold and two bronze chances for Azerbaijani judokas

The European championship among junior judokas has started in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.

Idman.biz reports that on the first day of the competition, 9 judokas of the Azerbaijan national team took to the mat.

Bahadir Feyzullayev advanced to the finals. Two of our representatives will compete for bronze.

Boys
50 kg

Bahadir Feyzullayev won the first match against Michael Eldan (Israel), then Furkan Gul (Turkiye).
Mammadali Husiyev scored victories over Nelu Malik (Moldova) and Tomas Gedoni (Italy).

Our representatives met in the semi-finals. The winner Feyzullayev will fight for gold, and Husiyev will fight for bronze.

55 kg
Nihad Mamishov lost to Alex Milosevic (Serbia) in the first match.

60 kg
Nihad Rahimov first defeated Kjartan Gray (Iceland), then Tomas Palillo (Italy), but lost to Jakub Kurowski (Poland) in the 1/4 finals. He will meet with Shalev Cohen (Israel) in the match for the bronze medal.

40 kg

Khadija Abdullayeva lost to Ema Vasilyeva (Bulgaria) in her first match.

Leyla Alakbarova defeated Stella Papai (Hungary) and Yuvay Gabaya (Hungary) and made it to the 1/4 finals. Our athlete failed to overcome Natalya Prolić (Serbia) at this stage, and Kalina Grigorova (Bulgaria) in the consolation round.
Narmin Mammadli lost to Eva Ewing (Great Britain) after her victory over Stylianou Xanthia (Cyprus).

48 kg
Diana Eldarova knocked out Noa Hadar (Israel) and Christina Christoforou (Cyprus). She lost to Charlotte Nettesheim (Germany).

Nurana Hajizade won against Petra Juljak (Bosnia and Herzegovina), but she failed against Elif Kilic (Turkiye) in the 1/8 finals.
