Grand Slam: Azerbaijani judoka was 5th

The Judo Grand Slam tournament in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, continues.

Idman.biz reports that on the second day of the competition, 4 judokas of the Azerbaijan national team stepped on the mat.

None of them could win a medal.

Nariman Mirzayev wrestled with Jack Yonezuka (USA) and lost.

Ibrahim Aliyev defeated Alexander Raich (Romania) and Umalt Demire (Turkiye) to the 1/8 finals. He lost to the Italian Manuel Lombardo and stopped fighting here.

81 kg
Omar Rajabli advanced to the 1/8 finals with victories over Agajan Aykhanov (Turkmenistan) and Sharafatdin Boltaboyev (Uzbekistan). He overcame Attila Ungvari (Hungary) in the next match. The Azerbaijani athlete, who won over Abilaykhan Jubanazar (Kazakhstan) in the 1/4 finals, lost to Shamil Borchashvili (Georgia) on the way to the finals.

Rajabli faced Mykhailo Svidrak (Ukraine) for the bronze medal. Since the opponent won, Omar took the 5th place.
