From January 20 to 21, the adviser to the president of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (AJF) Natig Baghirov, the head coach of the adult team Richard Trautman, the Olympic medalist Rustam Orujov, judges Nazim Umbayev, Fariz Huseynov and Akif Tahirov participated in the seminar for international judges and coaches held in Hungary.

Idman.biz reports that head coach Richard Trautman shared his positive opinion about the seminar organized by the International Judo Federation (IJF) and the European Judo Union.

He emphasized that more than 200 coaches and judges from all continents participated and that there was a friendly atmosphere at the seminar. According to him, the main goal of the seminar is to ensure that everyone understands the rules and their interpretations in the same way.

Trautman also noted that recent statistics at the seminar show that about 20 percent of matches end due to penalty points and disqualifications. This information will contribute to improving the rules for the period after the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.

The seminar ended with BCF President Marius Wieser expressing his concern about the increase in injuries during meetings. Marius Wiezer attributed this to insufficient coaching education in many countries and called on countries to pay more attention to the training of coaches and study at the IJF Academy.
