From November 8 to 10, judo competitions will be held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, as part of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games.
According to Idman.Biz, the local organizing committee has allocated quotas for five male and seven female judokas from each participating country. Azerbaijan will be represented by 12 athletes under the guidance of performance director and men’s national team head coach Richard Trautmann, as well as women’s team head coach Amina Abdellatif.
During team selection, special attention was given to ensuring the presence of reserve athletes in case of injuries or other unforeseen situations for the mixed team event. Unfortunately, due to the quota restrictions imposed by the organizers, the Azerbaijani team will not be able to participate with a full lineup.
More than 30 countries will take part in the judo competitions.
