Evgeniy Kuksevich: "Players completed all tasks in the First two matches"

The futsal players of “Araz-Nakhchivan” have successfully completed all their tasks in the first two matches of the UEFA Champions League main round.

According to Idman.biz, this was stated by the team’s head coach Evgeniy Kuksevich in an interview with Report news agency.

The coach said they are analyzing Austria’s “Ljuti Krajishnichi,” their opponent in the final match of the preliminary round: “In both matches played, the team completed the assigned tasks exactly as I wanted. That’s why we achieved the desired results. There are several young players in the squad, and they got opportunities to play. I believe they showed themselves well. We have watched the Austrian team’s games and carried out some analysis. I am more focused on my own team because the opponent can play deceptive football. I observe the opponent, but I focus on how my team will play. We have our own strategy: against any opponent, we must play attacking football with the determination to win.”

The Russian coach believes that the victories in the first games will not make the players overconfident: “I don’t think the wins in the first two matches will create overconfidence. I speak with each player individually, explaining the importance of the tournament and the results. We represent not just Araz-Nakhchivan, but Azerbaijani futsal in general. I believe all the players understand this. Against the Austrian champion, we will try to achieve the result we want.”

He also mentioned some challenges in implementing tactics: “The difficult part is that the team is being rebuilt, which makes it a little harder to implement my tactics because we had limited time. But since the new players are of good quality, there were no problems with adaptation. Among the locals, Khazar, Ulvi, and from last year’s squad, Giovanni and Carlos played an important role in this regard. I believe that after this tournament, our training sessions will gradually intensify, and the new players will master my tactics at the required level. We go on the court only to win. There is no other result. The task is to win, regardless of the opponent. In every game, we make certain tactical adjustments. I believe this will pay off. I thank the management for the conditions they have provided. They have met all our needs and created the necessary environment.”

The Nakhchivan team previously defeated Northern Ireland’s “Sparta Belfast” 9:1 and Scotland’s “PYF Saltires” 7:2 in Group F.

Today, the team will play its final match against the Austrian champion “Ljuti Krajishnichi.”
