Piastri shines in Belgium, beats Norris for sixth win of season

Oscar Piastri claimed his sixth victory of the Formula 1 season with a bold and decisive overtake on teammate and title rival Lando Norris in a rain-delayed Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.

Idman.biz, citing Reuters, reports that McLaren 1-2 finish, their third in a row, came after a dramatic start halted by heavy rain and poor visibility, delaying the race by 80 minutes. Once underway, Piastri wasted no time, passing Norris with a fearless move through Eau Rouge and down the Kemmel Straight.

“I knew lap one was my best chance. I lifted as little as I dared,” said the 24-year-old Australian, now 16 points ahead in the standings. Norris admitted defeat gracefully: “Oscar just did a good job… he deserved it today.”

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished a distant third as McLaren solidified their dominance with six wins from 13 races. Piastri is now the most successful Australian in a single F1 season, ahead of legends like Jack Brabham and Alan Jones.
