Champions League final matches to start earlier from 2026

From now on, UEFA Champions League final matches will kick off 3 hours earlier.

Starting from the 2025/26 season, UEFA has announced that the decisive matches of the tournament will begin at 18:00 CET (20:00 Baku time), Idman.biz reports.

UEFA’s statement reads: “This decision aims to improve the overall match day experience for fans, teams, and host cities. It will be implemented by optimizing logistics and operations, providing several noticeable benefits. Our goal is to make match day truly enjoyable for everyone who wants to be part of this spectacular event, and to allow families and children to attend the biggest and most significant club game of the season more easily.

For fans traveling from other cities, this change will offer easier access to public transportation, especially after the match, and ensure a safe and comfortable return from the stadium. For host cities, it will also enhance the event’s positive economic impact, as fans will be able to continue the festive atmosphere.

The new broadcast time will also contribute to a more accessible broadcast schedule, helping bring the final to a wider global television and digital audience, with special emphasis on engaging younger viewers.”

The 2026 UEFA Champions League final will take place on May 30 at the “Puskas Arena” in Budapest, Hungary.
