We knew the match would be tough for us, and it turned out as expected. We had analyzed the opponent and knew their strengths. The main thing is that we managed to secure three points.
You were substituted near the end of the game. How are you feeling?
Nothing serious. The doctor advised not to take risks. If I had continued, I could have strained a muscle or faced a more serious injury. There were only 3–4 minutes left in the match. I’m fine.
You have four points from two games. Did you expect this result?
It’s not a bad result. But the championship has just started, and a long marathon awaits us. This doesn’t mean much yet. We need to forget about the match against “Kapaz” and focus on the upcoming games.
In the third round, you will face the champion “Qarabag.” What result do you hope for this time?
We will prepare seriously for this match. It will be a good test for us, allowing us to see our strengths and weaknesses.
Can you get points?
It’s hard to predict the outcome. This is football, you never know what will happen. No one expected “Sumgayit” to beat “Qarabag” in the second round.
Looking at the first two rounds, how do you see your team’s goals for this season?
The main goal is to stay in the championship, and we must fight to achieve that.
