After a scoreless first half, Houston took the lead just under two minutes after halftime when Yazmeen Ryan dribbled around Seattle keeper Claudia Dickey for her second goal of the season.
The tie gave Houston at least a point in their fourth consecutive match, while Seattle settled for their second consecutive draw. The Reign, tied with Portland for fifth place, remain in a playoff position, while Houston sits in 11th, two points behind eighth-seeded Gotham FC.
Houston controlled possession for most of the match, with 14 shots but only two on target. Seattle had five shots, two on goal. The game’s start was delayed 20 minutes due to extreme heat.
