These words were spoken to Sport24.az by former “Neftchi” player Bagaliy Dabo, Idman.biz reports.
The 37-year-old former forward commented on the “Neftchi” performance in the first two rounds of the current season: “I want to particularly touch on the team’s last game. The forward (ed: Bassala Sambou) failed to score in a situation where the goalkeeper was helpless. In the first matches of the season, you must take full advantage of your opportunities.”
The French ex-player also spoke about Neftchi’s head coach Samir Abasov: “I believe that if a specialist has achieved success at a club, they should be given a chance.”
“Neftchi” drew 1-1 with “Shamakhi” in the first round and drew with “Imishli” in the second round. Bagaliy Dabo played for the capital club from 2018 to 2020.
