Betting on local football matches has been banned in Ghana.
According to The Ghana Report, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has completely prohibited betting on all national tournaments held in the country, Idman.biz reports.
Based on this decision, it will no longer be possible to place bets on the Ghana Premier League, the First Division, the Women’s Premier League, or other domestic competitions.
This step was taken as part of the country’s strategy to combat match-fixing. The GFA stated that the main goal is to strengthen trust in national tournaments and ensure the principle of “fair play.”
