"I consider Hajduk the favorite of the match."
According to Idman.biz, this was stated by Croatian coach Nikola Yurcevic, who once worked as the head coach of the Azerbaijan national team, in an interview with AZERTAC about the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round matches between Hajduk and Zira.
The expert noted that Zira is a dangerous team: "Last year, they eliminated Osijek, another Croatian representative, from the Conference League. This time, Hajduk must be careful. The Split club is one of the biggest teams in our country. I think the draw satisfied the collective."
The 58-year-old coach recalled that experienced player Marko Livaja is in the opponent's squad: "Marko has played for good clubs. He has enough experience and can make a difference in both matches."
Yurcevic said he knows Zirc’s head coach Rashad Sadygov well: "Rashad is one of the legends of Azerbaijani football. My friend, physiotherapist Radisa Milosavljevic, also works at Zira. I have heard many positive things about this team. Rashad Sadygov has been working there for many years and has built a successful team. Good local and foreign players have been transferred. Because of this, they make it to the prize winners every year."
Zira will host Hajduk for the first match on July 23, with the return match scheduled for July 31 away.
