The team captain shared his thoughts on the first friendly match during the pre-season break: “Friendly matches are important during preparations to help the team maintain its game rhythm. We still have more friendlies ahead, and after that, we’ll be in better shape for the league. Our goal for the new season is to keep our current position in the league. We want to bring back the former strength of Gabala. For now, the main priority is to build a new squad with a strong fighting spirit. The management is doing what’s needed in this direction.”
In their first pre-season match held at the Gabala City Stadium, Gabala defeated Shamakhi 2-1.
