"Mingachevir's goal is to become the champion of Azerbaijan."
Idman.biz reports that these words were said by Mingachevir's new head coach, Ramiz Mammadov, in a statement to the club’s press service.
He said he will strive to justify the trust placed in him: “The club management showed trust by inviting me. We will do our best to live up to their confidence. Mingachevir is my hometown. I started playing football here and have been a player-coach and captain. Moreover, I have played in two finals in Mingachevir. Starting today, we are rolling up our sleeves and getting to work. First and foremost, we need to build the team. Players need to be signed for every position, from goalkeeper to the attacking line. I will try to invite experienced and promising players that I know. The goal is to make Mingachevir the champion. God willing, we will develop a training plan in the coming days and start working towards this goal. As far as I know, the championship will begin in September. So, we have time.”
Ramiz Mammadov has replaced Fuzuli Mammadov as Mingachevir's head coach.
