Real Madrid has decided against pursuing Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres, according to The Athletic.
The club is currently searching for a striker with a similar profile to Joselu, who departed last summer, Idman.biz reports.
Head coach Xabi Alonso has reportedly asked the management to find a forward who can be effective inside the opponent’s penalty area and is willing to play a supporting role within the squad.
While Gyokeres was among the strikers offered to Los Blancos, his high transfer fee prompted the Spanish giants to back away from the deal. Additionally, Madrid views the Sporting CP striker as more of a starting XI player, rather than a rotational option.
