Qarabag FK continues to actively work on strengthening its squad ahead of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
Head coach Gurban Gurbanov shared the latest updates on the club’s transfer activity in an interview with QOL.az, Idman.biz reports.
Gurbanov confirmed that several changes are expected in the team:
“We’ve already parted ways with four players — Yassine Benzia, Patrick Andrade, Marko Vesovic, and Ismayil Ibrahimli. But this may not be the end. Depending on developments, a few more players — both local and foreign — may also leave the team in the coming days.”
The coach noted that negotiations are ongoing with potential new signings, especially two foreign players, one of whom is a midfielder, the other a defender. Talks are also underway with a forward.
However, Gurbanov denied reports linking the club to Pedro Bicalho, currently owned by Palmeiras and previously on loan at Santa Clara, and Costa Rican winger Diego Campos, clarifying that the club is not pursuing those players.
The Qarabag boss also emphasized that the goal is to bring in 5–6 new players during the summer transfer window.
