Idman.biz reports that Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Zira FC, shared his thoughts with journalists regarding the club's 2024/2025 season.
He described the season in the Azerbaijan Premier League as a success for the Baku-based club:
“Of course, we would have liked to play in the Europa League, but even competing in the Conference League is a significant achievement for us. Overall, we consider this season to be successful for Zira. This is the second time we’ve finished second in the Premier League, and that’s a big accomplishment. I want to thank our coaching staff and players for their efforts.”
Mammadov also commented on the upcoming Azerbaijan Cup final:
“I plan to attend the match. Naturally, the stronger side will win. I’ll be there to support good football.”
The Azerbaijan Cup final will take place on May 31, with Qarabag facing Sabah. If the Baku side wins, they’ll secure a spot in the UEFA Europa League. Otherwise, Zira will earn the ticket to the second-tier continental competition.
