Mohamed Salah: "I would like to win the Ballon d'Or for the Egyptian people"

Mohamed Salah has expressed his desire to win the Ballon d'Or for the Egyptian people.

Liverpool and Egyptian national team player admitted this in an interview with L'Equipe, Idman.biz reports.

When asked whether the failure in the Champions League would affect his fight for the Ballon d'Or, Salah answered: "It's not in my power, but one day I would like to win the Ballon d'Or for my people. If you were born in a village in Egypt, it's difficult to dream of the Ballon d'Or as a child. When I moved to Liverpool, I started thinking that maybe one day it would be possible... But even if I don't win, my career can still be considered successful."

Liverpool winger also touched on the age issue: "I'm only 32, and in recent years, several winners have been over 30. So you never know. Next season will be interesting: we will try to defend our title with Liverpool and play in the Champions League, and we will play in the African Cup of Nations with the Egyptian national team and, hopefully, in the World Cup. My ambition is to win all the titles."
