The future of Azerbaijan national team forward Mahir Emreli at Germany’s Nürnberg has been decided.
The 2. Bundesliga club’s press service has confirmed that Emreli will depart this summer, Idman.biz reports.
The 27-year-old striker’s contract, which expires at the end of the season, will not be extended. Both the club and the player have reached a mutual agreement on the decision.
Nürnberg’s sporting director, Joti Chatzialexiou, explained the move: “It’s important for us to clarify the futures of players whose contracts are expiring as early as possible. We’ve agreed with Mahir not to continue working together after this summer. We thank him for his efforts this season, especially for his commitment and his goals in recent matches. After our final game of the season, we wish him all the best for his future career and personal life.”
Emreli joined Nürnberg from Dinamo Zagreb last summer. In the current league campaign, he has recorded 7 goals and 1 assist in 22 matches.
