Barcelona are considering a potential move for Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck.
The Catalan club continue to monitor the center-back market due to limited defensive options and uncertainty surrounding the future of Ronald Araujo. Schlotterbeck, 25, is under contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2027 and is currently not prepared to extend his deal, - reports Idman.Biz.
However, the defender’s high financial demands could complicate a possible transfer. Borussia Dortmund are reportedly unwilling to part with Schlotterbeck for less than 50 million euros. Taking into account salary and bonuses, the total value of a five-year contract for "Barcelona" could reach around 125 million euros, a figure that presents a major challenge given the club’s budget constraints and financial fair play regulations.
It is also noted that "Bayern" and "Real" are among the clubs showing interest in Schlotterbeck.
