Inter Miami forward Luis Suarez has been penalized for striking an opponent in the second game of the MLS Cup.
According to Idman.Biz, Suarez hit Nashville’s Honduran defender Andy Najar off the ball. Although the incident was not noticed by the referee during the match, it was reviewed afterward and disciplinary action was taken.
Based on the decision of the MLS Disciplinary Committee, Suarez will be unable to play in his team’s third and decisive game.
This is not Suarez’s first suspension in MLS. In September, he received a three-game ban after spitting at a club staff member following the League Cup final against Seattle. Despite previous punishments, the Uruguayan striker has not changed his behavior, resulting in him missing another crucial match.
