According to sports doctor and traumatologist Pedro Luis Ripoll, the nature of the injury significantly affected the player’s performance in El Clasico.
“This is an injury that, frankly, is very difficult to treat. It causes pain that reduces a player’s ability to move and strike the ball by almost 50%. We saw that in the match against Real Madrid — he barely shot on goal, struggled to move, and kept stretching. It’s an exhausting pain that allows participation but prevents peak performance,” the specialist explained.
The match between Real Madrid and Barcelona ended 2–1 in favor of the Madrid side.
