Legendary Italian footballer Sandro Mazzola has died at the age of 83.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Mazzola spent his entire playing career with Inter Milan, representing the Nerazzurri from 1961 to 1977. He made 565 official appearances for the club and scored 161 goals.
Mazzola enjoyed a trophy-laden career with Inter, winning four Serie A titles, two European Cups and two Intercontinental Cups. He was also Serie A's top scorer in the 1964/65 season.
At international level, Mazzola earned 70 caps for Italy and scored 22 goals. He was part of the team that won the 1968 European Championship and also represented the Azzurri at the 1970 World Cup, where Italy reached the final before losing to Brazil.
One of the leading players of his generation, Mazzola finished second in the 1971 Ballon d'Or voting.
He was the son of Valentino Mazzola, captain and iconic figure of the legendary Grande Torino team.
After retiring as a player, Sandro Mazzola remained closely associated with Inter and held executive positions at the club.
