"Although we lost our chances to reach the European Championship final stage, we are mentally same. We will play for victory in Baku."
Idman.biz reports that this was said by the captain of the Swedish national team Viktor Lindelöf at a press conference on the eve of the EURO-2024 qualifying match with Azerbaijan.
Talking about the possible sell-out in the match in Baku, the defender added that it is always difficult to play away: "There were crowd in the matces. You may remember our meeting in Austria, there were too many fans. We are used to playing in such an environment, it gives us motivation."
He said that even though the classification did not go as they wanted, we remain professional: "We didn't lose anything from our motivation. We expect to win tomorrow's match."
It should be noted that the match between Azerbaijan and Sweden will be held on November 16.
