The national cycling team of Azerbaijan, consisting of athletes from various age groups, has departed for a training camp in Gadabay.

The training camp, held at an altitude of 1500–1700 meters above sea level, will last until the end of August. During this period, the athletes will participate in theoretical and practical training sessions to improve their professional skills, Idman.biz reports.

Before heading to Gadabay, a meeting was held at the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation with the event organizers and athletes.

The federation’s first vice-president, Sahib Alakbarov, stated that the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation leadership pays special attention to enhancing the preparation of national team members. The nature and geographical conditions of the Gadabay region offer excellent opportunities for cyclists to train on various types of routes. In particular, the high-altitude routes will positively impact the athletes’ physical conditioning, which is crucial for preparing for the European Championship to be held in France this October.

Sahib Alakbarov also noted that a training base has been allocated for the team in the Gadabay region and expressed his gratitude on behalf of the federation to entrepreneur Mubariz Bayramaliyev for his support in organizing the training camp.

In turn, Mubariz Bayramaliyev stated that the base in Gadabay, equipped with all necessary conditions, will help increase interest in cycling in the region.
