The dates for the 2027 Baku-Khankendi Azerbaijan Cycling Race have been confirmed.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation announced that the race will take place from May 9 to 13.
The event, which holds UCI 2.1 status, has been included in the official calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI).
One of the factors adding to the sporting significance of the race is its timing during the qualification period for the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympic Games.
With ranking points playing an important role in the Olympic qualification process, high-level teams and riders are expected to compete in the Baku-Khankendi Azerbaijan Cycling Race. The battle across individual stages and the general classification is also expected to intensify as teams seek strong results and valuable ranking points on the road to Los Angeles 2028.
In addition to its sporting importance, the Baku-Khankendi Azerbaijan Cycling Race serves as an international platform to showcase Azerbaijan's sporting, tourism and cultural potential.
The event also provides an opportunity to highlight the large-scale reconstruction and development projects carried out in the country's territories in recent years, particularly in the areas liberated from occupation.
