This statement was made by Mahir Mammadov, who was recently re-elected as President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, during a briefing with journalists, Idman.biz reports.
Addressing Talibov’s departure from the Executive Committee, Mammadov acknowledged his valuable role in the development of chess in Azerbaijan:
“Seymur Talibov has made significant contributions to Azerbaijani chess. His productive work was especially noted during the general election conference. Unfortunately, Mr. Talibov was unable to attend today due to valid reasons. I extend my gratitude to him for his service. A new team has now been formed, and regrettably, Mr. Talibov will no longer continue his work within the federation.”
Seymur Talibov is the son of Vasif Talibov, the former Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
