58th Memorial of the 3rd world chess champion Jose Raul Capablanca has ended in the Cuban city of Matanzas.
Azerbaijani grandmaster Azer Mirzoyev took 8th place in the competition, Idman.biz reports.
He drew with local chess player Isidro Dilan in the last round and brought his score to 6.5. Mirzoyev was behind Cuban Almeida Quintana, who came in fourth, only due to additional indicators.
The winner of the tournament was Dilan with 7.5 points: a draw with Azerbaijani chess player was enough for him to take first place.
