"We had a very good 3-week training camp in the USA. Although we tried to adapt in the first days, then we went through physical and technical-tactical training."
Idman.biz reports that Muhammad Abdullayev said this in a statement to the website of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation.
The winner of the World Championship, who won a license for the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games in the +92 kg weight class, evaluated the preparation in the state of Colorado. He said that he has already started working with a special program for the grandest competition of 4 years in the USA: "I also had several test competitions. My opponents were very strong. I tested my strength with the Olympic licensee of the USA, the medalist of Tokyo-2020. I see a growth in my strength. Considering my weight, having strong competitors is a big plus for me. My goal is to be at the best weight by the time of the Olympics."
According to Abdullayev, he will try with all his strength until Paris-2024 to write his name in the country's boxing history: "This year is doubly significant and at the same time responsible for us. It is both the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijani boxing and the Olympic year. I have taken the first step on the way to Paris-2024. I won a license at the European Games in Krakow. Now I want to continue this. My goal is to raise the Azerbaijani flag high in the capital of France, to fulfill the hopes of the boxers by winning a medal. I will do whatever is necessary towards this goal and I will try to prove that I am the strongest of my weight."
It should be noted that the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games will be held from July 26 to August 11.
