The Nations Cup between male and female boxers has been concluded in Sombor, Serbia.
Azerbaijan’s team finished the first competition of the year with three gold, one silver, and three bronze medals, according to Idman.biz.
Banuchichek Nasirli (46 kg), Aynur Mikayilova (54 kg) and Emili Rzayeva (63 kg) won the title among the juniors in the team led by coach Ilkin Aghayev. They defeated Ema Andela Zaja (Croatia), Ekaterina Kornilova and Kira Leonova (both Russia) respectively in the final.
In the senior competition, Aynur Rzayeva (81 kg) lost to Croatian Lucia Bilobrka in the decisive match and took the second place.
Among our other boxers, Marjona Savriyeva (50 kg), Mahsati Aghamaliyeva-Hamzayeva (57 kg) and Shahla Allahverdiyeva (66 kg) won bronze medals.
With this indicator, our team took the 3rd place in the team score. Emili Rzayeva won the nomination of the best boxer in her age group.
It should be noted that 102 boxers from 10 countries competed in the Cup of Nations.
