Heydar Mammadli, beach volleyball player of the Azerbaijan national team, told Idman.biz.
He evaluated the first game of the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA) Championship. According to Mammadli, who took part in this competition for the second time, his goal is to show a better result than the last one: "We took the 5th place in the first competition. This time we will do our best to improve our last year's result. We want to go to the semifinals and finals and become champions."
The volleyball player, who beat the Armenian national team 2:0 at the start, said that they are happy that they did it on Memorial Day: "That's why we played this game with great responsibility. Our sole focus was victory over the Armenians. We are glad that we gathered our strength and won."
Mammadli also said that his next opponent - Ukraine, is very strong: "But we are not weak either. We believe that we will leave this match with a good result."
Heydar Mammadli and Nariman Bayramli represent Azerbaijan in the championship held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.
