The Neftchi basketball club has parted ways with head coach Anar Sariyev.
According to Idman.biz, the club’s press service released an official statement confirming the decision.
Sariyev, who also serves as the head coach of the Azerbaijani U18 men's national team and assistant coach of the senior men's team, decided to step down due to the demanding nature of his multiple roles. His contract was terminated by mutual agreement.
Under Sariyev’s leadership, Neftchi won the Azerbaijani Cup last season. However, in the A group of the Basketball League, they are currently in last place with only three points after three rounds.
