Azerbaijan champion Qarabag played the next European Cup game.

Idman.biz reports that the Aghdam club has entered the return match of the Europa League playoffs.

Gurban Gurbanov's team hosted Braga in Baku. Having won 4:2 in Portugal, Qarabag made it to the 1/8 finals with great difficulty. 90 minutes ended with the rival team leading 2:0, and the winner was determined in extra time. Remaining with 10 men, Qarabag scored the necessary goal in the 120th + 2nd minute. Nariman Akhundzade, who missed the chance to score the 5th goal in the last minutes in Braga, became the hero of the game this time.

Taking advantage of the historical chance, Aghdam members became the first Azerbaijani club to be among the 16 strongest in European Cups.

It should be noted that the draw for the 1/8 final round will be made today. The 8 teams that won the playoffs will face the 1st place winners in the group stage.

Goals: Mateus Silva, 102. Nariman Akhundzade, 120+2 - Roje Fernandes, 71. Alvaro Calo, 83. Simon Banza, 115 (pen.)
