He evaluated the preparation of his team during the winter break. According to Shukurov, the game of Kapaz is encouraging: "We think that we can achieve good results by strengthening the team a little in the future. Sometimes it's bad luck, sometimes it's the result of a lack of style of play. But now we will try to develop the team's physical condition and technical-tactical point of view. We want to reach certain goals during this period. Because unlike the previous periods, this year's break is shorter. During this period, we must work to fully form our team. This requires hard work. We will play two test matches in the preparation period. During this period, as well as in the training sessions, we will develop the team and inculcate some issues relevant to us to the players more broadly. We have little time and we should make the most of it."
In an interview with the club's press service, the specialist said that he believed in Amil Yunanov, whom he rented from Sabail, and that he would be useful to the team: "He was a player I always liked. Amil was the top scorer of the Azerbaijan championship with Sumgait. I watched his games when he was in Sabail, but he got few chances there. He has a lot of opportunities to succeed in Kapaz. I think it will be of great benefit and help to us these days."
Addressing his fans, Shukurov asked them to be with Kapaz: "They should do whatever they can for our success. We, as a coach and a team, will mobilize all our strength to stay in the Premier League."
