The World Championship among wrestlers under 17 continues in Athens, the capital of Greece.
Freestyle wrestlers began their competition on the fifth day of the tournament, Idman.biz reports.
Two of our athletes who took to the mat have advanced to the semifinals.

Ravan Hasanazada defeated Belarusian Makar Markovich (UWW) by technical superiority (12:0) and then beat Uzbekistan's Jakhongir Tulkunov 4:2 to reach the semifinals. In the semifinal, Ravan wrestled against American Ariah Mills and lost 2:7. He will compete for the bronze medal.

Ruslan Alizada beat Moldovan Dan Bulgaru and Canadian Aaharen Piranavan both by a score of 10:0, but lost in the quarterfinals to Russian Chingis Saryglar (UWW) with a score of 8:9.

Huseyn Ismayilov defeated Canadian Liam Gorton 4:2, Greek Konstantinos Michailidis by technical superiority (11:0), and Kyrgyz Adisbek Altynbekov 2:1 to advance to the semifinals. In the semifinal, Huseyn faced Kazakh Yeraly Askerbek and won 3:1. He will face Arseni Kikiniou in the final.

Nihad Suleymanli defeated Armenian Vache Aslanyan 7:1 in his debut match. However, in the round of 16, he lost to Russian Issa Zangiev (UWW) 5:7, giving up victory with just three seconds left.

Hakim Taghiyev defeated Belarusian Mikita Tkachyk (UWW) by technical superiority (10:0) and American Alexander Taylor 7:6. In the quarterfinals, our wrestler lost 0:5 to Russian European champion Magomedrasul Omarov (UWW).
The World Championship will conclude on August 3.
