The U-20 European Championship held in Caorle, Italy, has concluded.
Azerbaijan’s freestyle wrestling team won a total of 5 medals at the continental tournament, Idman.biz reports.
The team earned 1 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals, scoring 133 points to finish second in the overall team standings. Georgia took first place with 164 points, while Ukraine came in third with 81 points.
Under the guidance of head coach Arif Abdullayev and coaches Rovshan Hajiyev and Ashraf Aliyev, Vasif Baghirov (57 kg) won gold, Muradkhan Omarov (79 kg) and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) claimed silver, while Omar Gulmammadov (74 kg) and Anar Jafarli (92 kg) secured bronze medals.
