Everton have received an immediate 10-point deduction after being found to have breached the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules.
Idman.biz reports according to BBC that, the commission determined that Everton FC’s PSR calculation for the relevant period resulted in a loss of £124.5million, as contended by the Premier League, which exceeded the threshold of £105million permitted under the PSRs. The commission concluded that a sporting sanction in the form of a 10-point deduction should be imposed. That sanction has immediate effect.
After being referred to an independent commission by the Premier League over an alleged breach of financial fair play rules, Everton have said that they intend to appeal against the decision.
It should be noted that he Premier League did not reveal the specifics of the club's alleged breach, other than saying it occurred in the period ending with the 2021-22 season.
