The expert shared his thoughts on the first match of Azerbaijan national team against Sweden in the Silver European League. The coach said that the preparations were at a high level: “Today we will face Sweden, tomorrow we will face Georgia. We started preparing at the beginning of May. From May 29 to June 2, we participated in friendly matches and training camps in Georgia. We won both matches we played. These matches were a good experience for our young members. Our captain Vugar Bayramov did not make the squad because he had a problem with his knee. We also have several other losses due to injuries. Nevertheless, we will do our best in the Silver League.”
Jalalov emphasized that the squad is dominated by young people: "We have recruited as many young players as we can from the country. We have almost rejuvenated 90 percent of the national team. Players under the age of 25 are now participating in the main squad. Two or three years ago, we could see players over the age of 35 dominating the team. We want them to be able to play for the national team in the future. Because some of our relatively older players have started coaching. In accordance with the sports policy pursued by the Federation, we are trying to give more chances to young people."
Azerbaijan - Sweden match will start at 17:00.
