Sahin Catma: "Our goal is to represent Azerbaijan at the highest level in the EEVZA Championship"

Head coach of Azerbaijan's U16 girls' volleyball team, Sahin Catma, shared his ambitions for the upcoming Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA) Championship, aiming to showcase both the Volleyball Federation and Azerbaijan at a high level.

In an interview with Idman.biz, Catma expressed his determination: “From November 20-23, we aim to represent both the federation and Azerbaijan as best as we can. We are confident that our team will give their all. Our ultimate goal is to succeed in all competitions. It's important to remember that our players are only 13-14 years old.”

Reflecting on the team’s preparations, he stated: “Since March, we’ve been training with athletes born in 2010-2011. For the past eight months, we’ve focused on developing young talent. Our aim is not only to prepare for competitions but also to cultivate future players for the national team. The federation has provided us significant support in this mission.”

In the tournament held in Poland, Azerbaijan will face Lithuania, Ukraine, and Estonia in Group B. The EEVZA Championship serves as a qualifying round for EURO 2025, with the champion earning a spot in the final stage.
