Idman.biz reports that this was said by Faig Garayev, who was re-appointed head coach of the Azerbaijan national volleyball team, at the press conference held today regarding his presentation.
The experienced specialist said that he thought a lot when accepting this offer: "My job is very difficult. I set a goal for myself during the offer to return to the head coaching. This is not my job alone. Hand-to-hand, we can improve this sport. We cannot live in the past. Good luck. Being the head coach of the team is not everyone’s cup of tea. It is an honorable and responsible job. I believe that if we take the right direction, we can achieve achievements."
It should be noted that the success of volleyball in Azerbaijan is connected with the name of President Ilham Aliyev. Garayev recalled that the head of the country, as the president of the National Olympic Committee, showed great support to them in early 2000: "At that time, he helped us a lot in the direction of improving our conditions."
Faig Garayev also emphasized that he does not shy away from criticism: "I am not afraid of it." Thank you all for supporting me. People and fans expect victories from us."
