A memorandum aimed at expanding multifaceted cooperation between European Aquatics (EA), the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation (ASF), the Azerbaijan Medical University (AMU), and the Azerbaijan Sports Academy (ASA) has been signed.
According to Idman.biz, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov expressed confidence that this collaboration will be beneficial for all sides. European Aquatics President Antonio Silva, who was pleased to be back in Baku, stressed that cooperation with the academy is an important step for the federation.
ASF President Zaur Aliyev noted that the memorandum will give new momentum to the development of swimming. ASA Rector Fuad Hajiyev said that joint projects will be implemented and that the academy will provide all conditions for the national team’s preparation for international competitions.
AMU Rector Geray Geraybeyli emphasized that within the framework of this cooperation, new projects will be carried out in education, scientific research, sports medicine, and the development of professional swimming.
Following the official speeches, the memorandum was signed, and Antonio Silva was presented with the official uniform of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation.
Earlier this year, in April, EA President Antonio Silva and First Vice-President Josip Varvodic visited Baku, where they met with the leadership of ASF to discuss strengthening cooperation, increasing participation across all swimming disciplines, and exploring new partnership opportunities.
