Azerbaijani swimmer Oqtay Huseynov has proudly represented his country by winning a gold medal at the 3rd CIS Games.
Idman.biz, citing Report news agency, reports that Huseynov expressed his happiness to journalists: “For the first time, an Azerbaijani swimmer has won gold at the CIS Games. I am very happy to have achieved this. I am glad to have raised Azerbaijan’s flag at the highest point. I felt a bit nervous before the race, but once I started swimming, I was able to overcome it,” he said.
Huseynov secured victory by outperforming all his rivals in the 400-meter individual medley.
