He singled out Azerbaijani wrestlers from the "Minister's Point of View": "Our Greco-Roman wrestlers Eldeniz Azizli became the World Champion for the third time and Rafig Huseynov for the second time in the World Championship held in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Our team, which won 2 gold and 3 silver medals, became the World Champion for the first time in the history. Our wrestlers also won a license for the Paris Olympics in Belgrade. In Greco-Roman wrestling, Hasrat Jafarov and Sanan Suleymanov, and in freestyle wrestling, Magomedkhan Magomedov joined the ranks of next year's Olympians. There was an increase in the number of our paralympians who got a license. This time Kamran Zeynalov won the right to go to Paris at the World Shooting Championship held in Peru. Thus, until today, our athletes have won 8 licenses for Paris-2024, and our Paralympic athletes have won 7 licenses."
Gayibov reminded that they met with Azerbaijani athletes who successfully represented our country in continental and world championships and other prestigious international competitions last month. He said that they listened to the impressions of the competition of our winning athletes and exchanged ideas about their preparations: "In addition, we had the chance to congratulate our athletes who deservedly represented Azerbaijan at the 14th European Polo Championship together with the President of the Azerbaijan Equestrian Federation, Elchin Guliyev."
The 10th meeting with the representatives of the Olympic sports federations was held outside Baku this time - in a different place. According to the Minister of Youth and Sports, current issues were discussed, reports were heard, and decisions were made on the next steps at the meeting held at the Guba Olympic Sports Complex. A meeting was also held with the residents of Shabran and Khachmaz.
The Minister noted that the "Kur" Olympic Training and Sports Center located in Mingachevir was one of the most active sports facilities last month: "Azerbaijan Triathlon Championship, the next National Rowing Championship, as well as an international handball game were held here for the first time. "Kur" handball club was recently established and is currently the only regional team that plays in the National Championship. The women's handball team made its debut in the European Cup competition, and this month the men's team will also represent our country in the Continental Cup Competition. The performance of the women's handball team was received with great enthusiasm and aroused the interest of the fans. I believe that the number of children joining the handball section of the club will increase day by day. I would like to especially mention the other competition held outside the capital - the rhythmic gymnastics tournament organized in Nakhchivan."
