The "WRPF PHL Arena World Cup IFBB 2025" powerlifting competition was held in Madrid, Spain.
Azerbaijan was represented by Ramil Ahmadov, who participated by special invitation, Idman.biz reports.
In the elite raw division, Ahmadov competed in the 110 kg weight category, achieving a total of 835 kg. He secured first place in his category and third place among absolute winners.
Ahmadov lifted 312.5 kg in the seated press, 210 kg in the bench press, and 312.5 kg in the deadlift.
In the seated press, he also broke the Azerbaijani record of 311 kg previously held by professional athlete Vusal Agalarov.
Ahmadov underwent six months of treatment due to injuries sustained at the IPL World Cup in December 2024, and he has returned to training over the past three months.
