The fixtures for the next European matches of Kur, Azerbaijan men’s handball team, have been finalized.
Fuad Yangildin, director of the Mingachevir club, confirmed that Kur will play both legs of the EHF European Cup’s third-round matches against Iceland's Haukar on their home court at the Kur Olympic Sports and Training Center. The Icelandic club agreed to the arrangement, allowing Kur to hold both games on their home ground, as reported by Idman.biz.
Yangildin acknowledged the strength of the opposing team, describing Haukar as one of Iceland’s leading clubs with extensive experience in continental tournaments, including appearances in the Champions League and reaching the EHF Cup semifinals.
The matches are set for November 30 and December 1, both starting at 17:00 local time. Haukar will arrive in Azerbaijan two days before the first match.
Notably, Kur made history for Azerbaijani men's handball by reaching this round, a first for the nation's clubs in continental tournaments, following their victories over Cyprus’s Parnassos with scores of 35:31 and 32:29.
