Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnasts begin European Championships in Tallinn – UPDATED

The European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships have officially kicked off today in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia.

The opening day featured performances by junior group teams, Idman.biz reports.

Azerbaijan’s junior group, consisting of Nazrin Abdullayeva, Roya Alikishiyeva, Ayan Nasirova, Shams Muvaffaggi, and Nazrin Salmanli, presented two routines—one with five hoops and another with five pairs of clubs.

The team earned a combined total of 40.400 points, placing 13th in the all-around category.

Unfortunately, they did not qualify for the apparatus finals. In the hoops routine, the Azerbaijani team narrowly missed out on a top-eight finish, ranking 10th, just two spots short of qualification.
